There are things in this life I am very grateful for right now-
One is cetirizine, the lovely little pill that lets me walk around all summer without scratching my eyeballs out. Stupid allergic conjunctivitis.
Another is lovely men selling delicious fudge. I was at the Ellesmere food and drink festival lately and it was just fantastic. I swear I was grinning like a fool the whole time. Well anyway, in true newbie style, I bought four sticks of fudge from the first place I got to. The guy didn’t offer tasters, but hey, I love fudge, so I didn’t see the problem. And it’s almost like he knew me (or saw my whole face light up at the appropriate moment) because my 100g of mocha fudge was maybe twice the size of my 100g of any other flavour. Thank goodness for whatever magical property of my favourite flavour lets it defy gravity, I say. I’m sure he moved the knife to give me a little more when I confessed I hate peanut butter, but I was getting it to earn good girlfriend points too!
So anyway, the whole morning was amazing, I didn’t need to eat breakfast or lunch that day; the samples of food on offer were just too generous and delicious to hold back. I didn’t even manage to take any photos! I found myself cursing the lovely fudge man for tempting me early when another seller gave me a taste of his lemon peel and white chocolate version, which was divine, but unfortunately surplus to requirements in my burgeoning bag of goodies. There’s only so much fudge a girl can eat!
But- oh! I’m so sorry, wonderful fudge-man, I was wrong to doubt. Literally incredible. I’ve had to split it with Tom but I really could eat the whole lot. Except the peanut butter one, which is obviously vile. I’m rationing myself, but it can’t last forever.
Lastly I’m grateful for my family and Tom, visiting me up here in Wrexham *cough, purgatory, cough* and keeping me sane. Kisses!
Seriously look at that fudge! I've got a bit of a chocolate theme going, but it's so light and creamy I've been daydreaming about the strawberry and cream flavour. Top is dark and whote choc layered with caramel- tasty but essentially your basic fudge. Middle is dark choc + ginger, which is so far from a normal fudge flavour, it's genius! Bottom is my darling mocha fudge. Tastes like basic chocolate, then a rich creamy mocha taste just fills up your whole mouth. Mmmm....
